Job Description

Salary: £61,664 - £65,432 (£69,399 including 3 + SPA) per annum (pro rata for part-time)

Fringe Allowance £916 per annum

Grade Soulbury B 5-8 + 3 SPA

Permanent Contract

*Thurrock is offering a marketing supplement of £3,000 after 6 months employment, and a further £3,000 after 18 months employment

Thurrock is served by the C2C railway which connects London Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness, meaning the average train journey time from London to Grays is 40 minutes. Thurrock also has easy access to the A13, M25 and Dartford Crossing.

As a Senior EP for Thurrock, you will be able to develop an area of senior specialism within the service, with protected time for this activity. We are currently seeking specialisms in Social, Emotional and Mental Health as well as Looked After Children (working with the Virtual School), although other areas of specialism can be negotiated. Through this specialism, you can make a real impact by contributing to the development of policy and strategy within the local authority.

At Thurrock EPS, you will be part of a team of Educational Psychologists with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and to offering the highest quality of person-centred services to children, young people and families living in Thurrock. As a member of the team, you will also participate in providing a traded service to schools and academies through a Consultation First model, work with children and young people from pre-school to post-16, provide crucial support for our most vulnerable residents, and undertake a range of statutory duties.

As the ideal candidate you will:

  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience working within a Local Authority context.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion through your work with children, families, schools and other professionals.
  • Work collaboratively as part of an EP Team, taking a solution-focused approach to enhancing the quality and efficiency of the service.
