Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Editor (Planning and Production) will help us shape the future of Stats Perform News' industry-leading sports content, helping to drive fan engagement for a range of global media outlets, broadcasters and portals across a range of sports.
  • You will have a strong and proven track record in journalism producing content in the digital and broadcast sphere. Experience of working in a quick-paced work environment with tight deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for producing different types of content for several mediums and a strong understanding of the unique nature of providing content as part of an agency model.
  • An expert in planning and organising coverage for some of the biggest events in global sport. An experienced production editor with the ability to use high end camera equipment and an understanding of live delivery technology to create content for a range of client across social, digital and broadcast. You have a thorough knowledge of football as well as a keen interest in US Sports, tennis, boxing, UFC, F1 and golf.
  • You will be able to co-ordinate and managing teams of journalists internationally. Experience of managing budgets and observing financial targets. The ability to deliver production and planning innovation and develop great content across all mediums to stimulate new business opportunities in B2B and B2C markets.
  • The Senior Editor (Planning and Production) in collaboration with the Senior News Editor will oversee the planning of our major events as well as our week-to-week output.
  • The candidate must have their finger on the pulse of the daily sports news agenda, show a track record of client-focused content delivery and an ability to innovate to drive engagement with end users.
  • Experience of working on bespoke projects, using high end camera equipment to enhance the raw content so it can be used for many different formats both traditional and in new media. They must understand the role social media plays in selling and presenting content and how we can plan and deliver this to clients.
  • This person will oversee the QA process of the raw content that we get from both internal and external Video journalists and set high standards for delivering content on time and to the highest possible quality. Training staff and ensuring they can deliver from the ground will also be an essential task when planning coverage for the biggest tournaments.
  • They will drive the news agenda for the entire service working alongside senior leads to deliver high- quality data driven content. The candidate must have the ability to innovate the content to drive engagement with end users. Having a knowledge of B2B and B2C markets so that bespoke and multi- purpose content can feature as part of our business.
  • You will manage a large freelance pool across the globe and will need to be able to provide briefs and feedback to support the news gathering process. You will also work closely with other News stakeholders and teams such as Data, Data Insights, Marketing and Commercial teams to drive synergies across the wider business.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years' video/digital experience leading and driving a news team, including line management responsibility and leadership experience.
  • Evidence of planning long-term projects and delivering key deliverables for both B2C and B2B clients. Evidence of creating high-quality and innovative video content for digital and social audiences.
  • Excellent editorial judgement, including knowledge of media law. Excellent sporting knowledge.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant production systems, including Live technology and video cameras. Strong news sense and confidence in setting the daily agenda.
  • Strong understanding of commercialising content, either in a B2B or B2C environment. Experience of working in an international/multi-regional organization.
  • Additional language skills (e.g. French, Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian). Experience of using data to drive the content agenda.
