Job Description

As a Senior Econometrician, you will be providing econometric based analysis and recommendations to our core Digital brands.

Reporting into the Lead Econometrician, you will be part of the Global Marketing team, the purpose of the team and this role is to use econometrics to measure performance and best allocate marketing budget across our acquisition marketing teams and channels, driving efficiency of performance and increasing ROAS.

The remit of the team more broadly is to challenge the marketing teams to change the way they think and operate to ultimately enhance results

What you'll do

  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced statistical models to analyze marketing data and assess the impact of various factors on customer behavior and business outcomes.
  • Oversee econometric analysis to evaluate market trends, forecast performance, and support high-stakes decision-making processes such as large-scale marketing budget allocations and media planning.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing teams to optimize marketing budgets through sophisticated budget optimization scenarios and econometric insights.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior econometricians and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
  • Interpret and effectively communicate complex econometric findings to senior stakeholders, including non-technical audiences, influencing strategic marketing decisions.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of large datasets used for econometric analysis, overseeing data management practices and the development of new data pipelines where necessary.
  • Enhance and maintain the existing Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) framework, ensuring that it continues to meet evolving business needs.
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends in econometrics and apply this knowledge to refine and enhance our econometric models and tools.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports and documentation that summarize econometric analyses for senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on econometric methodologies, model validation, and best practices in statistical analysis.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a related field with extensive experience in econometric analysis and model development.
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical software such as R or Python, with a deep understanding of econometric techniques, time-series analysis, and regression models.
  • Proven ability to lead complex analytical projects, with a strong track record of delivering actionable insights that drive business value.
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail and a passion for data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex econometric concepts to senior stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner.
  • Extensive experience in managing large datasets, ensuring data integrity, and resolving data quality issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in driving projects forward.

Desired:

  • Significant industry experience, particularly in the Gambling/Gaming sector.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly within marketing and finance.
  • Advanced programming skills beyond statistical software, such as SQL or data visualization tools (PowerBI, Looker Studio).
  • Familiarity with machine learning applications in econometrics.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as GCP or AWS.
  • Previous experience in a senior role with significant leadership responsibilities
