Now let us tell you about the role:

Reporting to the UK Processing Director, you will hold full P&L accountability and will take ownership of growing your region, delivering excellent customer service levels, whilst maintaining high standards and an efficient operating model. You will be a leader with he ability to delivery effective results through your team and focus on performances and development, working with your peers across the Midlands sites.

  • Contract management - work closely with the central contract management function to ensure that major contractors are compliant and delivering excellent levels of service
  • Project Management - undertake any assigned projects, ensuring that agreed outcomes are delivered on time, within budget and to the expected standard
  • Stakeholder Management - work closely with the 12 Waste Collection Authorities across Essex providing effective waste disposal and treatment directions
  • Operational management - safe and efficient day-to-day management of all recycling centres, transfer stations and haulage fleet
  • Identify bottlenecks in workflows and implement process improvements to drive operational excellence with a mindset focused on scale and efficiency.
  • Set clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members to support their professional growth and development.
  • Report to leadership team, summarising operational performance, trends, and actionable insights that will inform decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence and drive strategic initiatives
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a processing and operational environment
