Job Description

This role will lead our multicultural marketing team across Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and executing marketing strategies for mass market products, including UEFA UCC competitions, the English Premier League and Bundesliga Match Attax and stickers, and entertainment collectibles. Additionally, this role will be essential in creating the hobby market marketing strategy to establish and grow the hobby market in Europe. Key responsibilities are:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor the European marketing team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement effective marketing plans and brand strategies for mass market products and the emerging hobby market.
  • Create strategies for all marketing managers in the European regions, ensuring a cohesive approach across different markets.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Build comprehensive marketing strategies for UEFA UCC men's and women's competitions, the English Premier League and Bundesliga Match Attax, stickers and entertainment collectibles.
  • Develop and execute a forward-looking hobby market marketing strategy to establish and grow the hobby market in Europe.
  • Manage all elements of consumer marketing/promotions, including consumer research and analysis, advertising, trade promotion, online marketing, financial analysis, and budget management.
  • Content and Social Media Management:
  • Oversee the development of engaging content for Topps' social media channels, working closely with the Social Media Manager and creative teams.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and marketing objectives, utilizing influencer marketing to increase reach and engagement.
  • Drive innovative and visionary digital marketing strategies to enhance brand presence and engagement across all social media platforms.

Relationship and Partnership Management:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with high-profile partners such as football governing bodies, football clubs and brand partners.
  • Manage new licenses and contract renewals with professional football clubs.
  • Explore new opportunities to collaborate with brand partners and organizations to extend the reach of all collections.

Event and Project Management:

  • Organize and execute large-scale audience-focused events across multiple cities in Europe.
  • Develop project teams, outlining critical paths, timelines, and deliverables to ensure timely and effective execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Shows and Events Management to create and deliver impactful marketing events.

Budget and Financial Management:

  • Accurately manage the promotional and advertising spend for each collection, ensuring alignment with the budget.
  • Work with sales teams in the European region to develop retail plans for each product, ensuring maximum market penetration and sales growth.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams, including agencies and suppliers, to execute marketing activities effectively.
  • Manage PR, online, and media agencies to develop cost-effective ideas that promote the company and its products.
  • Work cooperatively with the Content Creation department, Athlete Partnership management, and the Shows/Events Management team.

Required Skills, Experience and Competencies:

  • Master Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of marketing experience in sports/entertainment or relevant consumer products, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful marketing campaigns and leading multicultural marketing teams across Europe.
  • Strong passion for and comprehensive knowledge of football and sports.
  • Self-confident, energetic, proactive, organized, highly detailed, and goal-oriented.
  • Strong influencing, communication, and interpersonal skills with a 'can-do' mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proven ability to multitask, juggle multiple projects, and effectively determine priorities.
  • Experience working with an international, decentralized team.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and results-oriented.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically while also being able to execute flawlessly.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
