We are looking to recruit a Senior Director on a Fixed-Term Contract until June 2025.

About the Role - Senior Director | Public Team

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced researcher to join our growing public and third sector research team. Part of the wider Research, Insight & Consulting practice, the Public Team's clients include governments, public bodies, charities, pressure groups, media outlets, think tanks, higher education institutions, political parties and trade unions and our research is often in the public eye.

This role offers a great chance for you to work across a varied client base delivering compelling insights that have a real impact on society and help shape public policy. The teams conducts both ad-hoc and tracking research, and almost all members are methodology agnostic.

This role offers true variety working across a wide range of methodologies, from design through to delivery, including tracking and ad-hoc projects.

The successful candidate must have experience in working with public sector clients to inform and evaluate policy and communications, and will take pride in producing high-quality, well-designed outputs, delivering actionable insights to clients.

As a Senior Director, you'll be the lynchpin of client accounts - project-managing, delegating and handling day-to-day account activity while ensuring clients are kept informed and that foreseeable project challenges are promptly resolved. You will take a prominent role in building client relationships and developing the research offering.

No two days are the same in this role! You will:

  • Manage our largest projects
  • Lead initial discussions with clients and prospects
  • Make recommendations on a variety of research techniques
  • Attend high value and high potential calls, meetings and/or pitches alongside Client Development
  • Lead on / support proposal writing
  • Design the research project
  • Manage internal ops team and external suppliers, monitoring quality and cost
  • Create insightful reports and presentations, including recommendations
  • Lead presentations and workshops with clients
  • Mentor junior team members, ensuring effective use of resource

About You

As well as a strong expertise in the application of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, success in this role will require strong analytical skills and a working knowledge of the not-for-profit and public sectors.

To fulfil the delivering of high-quality end-to-end primary research projects while being a trusted advisor to clients, the ideal candidate should also have solid expertise in a research capacity and demonstrate a track record of:

  • End-to-end custom research management, from designing methodologies to analysing data and extracting pertinent trends for actionable insights and recommendations
  • Developing innovative solutions to client briefs and writing proposals for quantitative and qualitative research projects
  • Writing a variety of analytical reports from a range of research techniques / approaches
  • Managing operations teams and suppliers
  • Suggesting ideas and new ways in which we can work with clients or ability to challenge a clients' way of thinking
  • Applying a commercial mindset to motivate your team to exceed client expectations
