Senior Director, Growth, Business Banking

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

Since our launch in 2015, we've lent over £13bn to ambitious entrepreneurs across both the UK and US. That's led to the creation of over 40,000 new jobs and over 29,000 new homes - and we're not about to stop there. We're dedicated to helping trailblazing businesses thrive.

Our Business Banking proposition is designed for the UK's most ambitious, high-growth companies. Since launching in 2024, we've built a digital-first, insight-led experience for modern SMEs-one that's shaped by the needs of scale-ups and the expectations of today's decision-makers.

As we enter our next phase of growth, we're hiring a Senior Director to co-lead the Business Banking unit. You'll work in tandem with the Senior Product Director to shape the vision, scale the product, and manage the business end-to-end-with a particular focus on Commercial, Go-to-Market, Marketing, Partnerships, Onboarding, and Customer Experience.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a rapidly growing unit inside one of the UK's most successful fintech-born banks.

What You'll Do

    • Strategic Leadership & Business Ownership
    • Own and evolve the strategic direction of Business Banking alongside the Senior Product Director.
    • Be jointly responsible for the unit's P&L, roadmap, and day-to-day performance, acting as a true co-founder of the business line.

    • Represent the unit across internal forums, board, and market-facing engagements.
    • Commercial & Go-to-Market Execution
    • Lead the commercial and go-to-market functions, ensuring they're structured for growth and equipped to scale.
    • Drive revenue growth via pricing, acquisition channels, content, campaigns, and customer lifecycle strategies.
    • Develop and execute go-to-market plans, with clear accountability for lead generation, conversion, and retention metrics.
    • Cultivate new distribution partnerships and ecosystem relationships to unlock scalable channels and growth loops.
    • Customer Experience & Onboarding
    • Own and continuously optimise the customer journey-from awareness and acquisition through onboarding, activation, and lifecycle engagement.
    • Partner closely with Operations and Customer Success to ensure a seamless, insight-led and feedback-driven experience.
    • Set and deliver against CX metrics, including onboarding conversion, NPS, CSAT, and churn.
    • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Operate within a matrixed team model, collaborating daily with Product, Technology, Risk, Legal, Data, and Operations.
    • Translate strategic goals into execution plans across multiple squads.
    • Ensure commercial priorities are fully integrated into product design, delivery, and decision-making.

    • Prioritise ruthlessly to focus on what drives growth and customer value.
    • Identify opportunities and gaps fast, and activate plans to respond with agility.
    • People Leadership & Talent Development
    • Lead and grow the commercial team, acting as a coach, partner, and mentor.
    • Champion OakNorth's culture, values, and leadership principles in everything you do.
