Senior Director Compliance

Fitch Group is currently seeking a Senior Director based out of an EU/UK office.

The Regulatory Compliance team is primarily responsible for managing Fitch Ratings' interaction with regulators across EMEA, including required regulatory reporting and supervisory inspections and examinations.

The team is responsible for ensuring general compliance with applicable credit rating agency regulations, fulfilling various regulatory reporting obligations, reviewing Fitch Ratings' policies and procedures to ensure they are designed to effectively address regulatory requirements, and handling conduct-related internal investigations and complaints.

As such, the role offers the successful applicant an opportunity to work with EMEA regulators, as well as senior members of the Compliance leadership team and internal stakeholders in all areas of the business globally.

We'll Count on You To:

  • Reporting into the London-based Head of Compliance - EMEA, the successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring accurate and timely scheduled and ad hoc reporting is submitted to regulators.
  • Regulatory reporting requirements continue to expand and the role will entail implementing processes to ensure this new reporting is fulfilled on an ongoing basis.
  • The candidate will be responsible for liaising with diverse internal stakeholders throughout the organisation in order to fulfil this reporting within regulatory deadlines and conducting checks to ensure their accuracy prior to submission.
  • The candidate will lead a small team of one/two others who will both assist the candidate with these activities, as well as provide support to other areas of EMEA Regulatory Compliance, notably with requests for information from and investigations by EMEA regulators.
  • The successful candidate will act as lead liaison with EMEA regulators with respect to queries and follow up on reported information. This includes collection, compilation and management of reporting and review of internal submissions for adequacy and appropriateness.

What You Need to Have:

  • Educated to university degree level or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a Credit Ratings environment (or as a minimum in another similar FCA/ESMA- supervised sector)
  • Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines with a high degree of flexibility and excellent time-management skills.
  • Excellent drafting, review and communication skills with great attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Legal qualifications would be an advantage, but are not a requirement.
  • Experience in compliance matters associated operational resilience, particularly from a digital perspective
  • Prior experience of dealing with regulatory agencies and managing regulatory inspections/examinations/reporting in a financial services environment
  • Exposure to and knowledge of MetricStream or other governance, risk and compliance (GRC) systems.
