What's it all about?
The Signature Client Account team leads the relationship with one of Visa's largest card issuing banks in the UK, supporting the growth and development of this important strategic partnership for both organisations. Our team acts as the first point of call for our client on all things Visa, acting as the connective tissue to enable deep collaboration across a diverse range of priorities, capabilities, customer segments and use cases. We are a focused and high-performing team of account executives, with a large virtual team of cross-functional experts who partner with us to deliver the best of Visa's offerings to our client in a targeted and commercially-focused way.
This role will report into the VP, Client Director for this Signature Client Account, who is part of the UK & Ireland Leadership Team. This is a wide-ranging and diverse role, overseeing the largest portfolio within the client relationship and has the responsibility of maintaining and deepening one of the most collaborative and strategic relationships we have in the UK. Promoting and securing the use of Visa products and services across their business to improve the Visa payments customer experience and deliver growth is a key objective, as well as running the senior stakeholder engagement plan and C-Level quarterly business reviews.
Through your deep Client relationship, your experience, and thought leadership, you will work with the client to develop future strategic plans to identify and deliver new innovations for customers, ensuring that your client continues to be market leading innovators in payments and financial services while supporting the growth and diversification of Visa. You will balance a range of strategic priorities and aspirational commercial targets, significantly contributing to Visa's overall performance in the UK market.
What we expect of you, day to day:
- Effectively cultivate a deep, trusted partnership with the Consumer business units of one of Visa's largest Issuers by understanding our client's needs and giving them confidence that Visa can address their needs, ensuring your stakeholders are provided appropriate support from all relevant Visa teams
- Work with a broad spectrum of stakeholders at your client and internally to identify new and ongoing requirements, introducing Visa's products, services, and expertise which will drive profitability for your P&L. Manage individual and team-based sales targets
- Develop strategic annual plans to identify and deliver new innovative solutions, which will enhance the customer payment experience and support growth for the consumer payments business.
- Leverage your deep knowledge of consumer payments, the broader payments market and Financial Services, to identity new opportunities to proactively provide your client with solutions to grow their business. Becoming a trusted advisor to their business, working collaboratively with cross-functional experts internally
- Be accountable for prioritising conflicting and competing demand across the business to ensure Visa resources are deployed to maximum effect
- Manage a team of three direct reports and oversee a wider team, who are dedicated to developing the relationship with your client. Coach, support and challenge more junior members of the team to develop and progress
- Lead pricing and contract negotiations where required
- Ensure we meet our client contractual obligations, working in partnership with colleagues across the business
Qualifications
- Proven experience of having managed clients to seek out new opportunities to deliver solutions and grow the profitability of their business
- Deep knowledge, interest, and experience of consumer payments and and/or financial services
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with and influence key stakeholders up to Executive level, with the ability to work collaboratively across internal Visa functions to build a Visa network, solve complex problems, and serve as the face of Visa to senior clients and partners
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of consumer card payments and non-card payments, with experience of driving P&L growth
- Proven ability to develop and deliver client specific strategic plans, to drive value both for the Client and Visa
- Proven influencing, selling and negotiation skills
- Senior level B2B sales experience, particularly in digital product or solutions
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop direct and matrixed teams
