UK - Group Tax Manager

Role Summary:

As Group Tax Manager you will lead group tax reporting and compliance, also providing support on group transfer pricing and tax advisory for a variety of projects. You will work closely with the Head of Global Tax and other stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of tax reporting, compliance and strategy across the group.

Contract: Permanent

Location: London, Lloyds Avenue (Hybrid)
Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per annum

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Tax reporting

  • Lead the monthly and year-end group tax reporting process to ensure tax reporting requirements are met in a timely fashion.
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of accounting and reporting systems to ensure effective tax accounting and reporting.
  • Support the business with group tax cash flow, budgeting and forecasting.

Tax compliance

  • Lead UK corporate, indirect tax and other compliance matters, liaising with Group Finance and other business functions as appropriate.
  • Support the local country finance teams with the delivery of local tax filings, including supporting group documentation, as required.

Transfer pricing

  • Assist the Head of Global Tax with the development and maintenance of the group's transfer pricing policies and defence documentation, supporting the current tax strategy and commercial operating model across the group.
  • Ensure that transfer pricing policies are understood and properly implemented by the business.

Tax governance

  • Work with the Head of Global Tax to develop and maintain a robust tax governance, controls and risk mitigation framework ensuring tax controls are operated effectively.
  • Assist with updating tax policies and risk register.
  • Assist with the identification of potential risks and opportunities.

Tax advisory

  • Support tax optimisation and business strategic initiatives, including ad hoc project and advisory work either international or UK focused dependent on need.
  • Proactively partner with the business to develop solutions and deliver commercially focused, practical tax advice across a range of business projects.

Process improvement

  • Identify potential tax transformation opportunities to drive process improvements and efficiencies where needed.
  • Improve data management and report automation through close collaboration with the business functions.

Who You Are:

  • UK qualified (ACA/ACCA/CTA).
  • Good working knowledge of current UK tax legislation.
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification international tax experience within a multinational business
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering international group tax reporting in-house.
  • A good understanding of the current international tax landscape.
  • Demonstrable technical excellence across a fast-moving commercial organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), able to quickly build relationships and deliver clarity to non-tax personnel.
  • "Hands-on" problem solver with the capacity to develop and learn in the role.
  • Commercially minded.
  • Systems orientated and strong excel skills.
  • Big 4 background advantageous though not essential.
  • Indirect tax experience (desirable).
  • Transfer pricing experience (desirable).
  • Hyperion Financial Management experience (desirable).
