Senior Digital Technical Architect
On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for a Senior Digital Technical Architect (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based Remote (Occasional travel to London office).
FCDO is delivering a major digital transformation programme to modernise its technology estate and deliver secure, scalable services globally. We're seeking a Senior Digital Technical Architect to lead enterprise-level architecture strategy for FCDO. This is a high-impact role where you'll define reference architecture, enforce governance, and ensure TOGAF-aligned documentation across a complex technology landscape.
As a Senior Digital Technical Architect your main responsibilities will be to:
* Lead architecture strategy and ensure it's agreed and followed.
* Network and communicate with senior stakeholders across organisations.
* Proactively seek opportunities for digital transformation.
* Support multiple teams, applying best practice and emerging technologies.
* Inspire other architects and guide delivery of organisational goals.
* Own governance and solve complex, high-risk architectural issues.
Essential:
* TOGAF certification and hands-on experience.
* Enterprise-level architecture leadership in large organisations.
* Strong governance and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience in Microsoft Azure (AWS exposure desirable).
* Experience producing architecture libraries and documentation at scale.
* Exposure to telecommunications environments desirable.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
