Team: Marketing & Communications
Working Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Location: Based at Trees for Cities office in Brixton, London, with minimum 2 days per week in the office. This role is open to candidates who are London-based or within a reasonable commuting distance.

Purpose of Job

The Senior Digital Marketing & Communications Coordinator will develop and deliver high-impact, engaging digital marketing activities, content and campaigns that will increase the reach and reputation of the charity's brand and raise awareness of our work and mission, helping us to build a nationwide Movement for Urban Trees and Tree Equity over the next five years.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the post holder will help strengthen Trees for Cities' voice and presence across web,email and social channels to inspire all our audiences to take meaningful action to make urban trees matter.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

Digital Campaigns & Paid Media

  • Lead integrated digital marketing and communication campaigns designed to increase the reach and reputation of the charity and deliver against agreed KPIs and organisational objectives.
  • Create, manage and optimise digital campaigns across Paid Search (Google Ads Grant), Paid Social (Metaand LinkedIn), and display advertising, working closely with external agencies and identifying opportunities for new channels and approaches.
  • Manage a budget for paid social campaigns and social media promotion of boosted posts to key audiences.
  • Conduct post-campaign analysis and use insights to inform future campaign planning.

Website Management, SEO & Analytics

  • Manage the charity's website using CRAFT CMS, ensuring content is created, edited, updated and SEO-optimised.
  • Liaise with web developers on the design, layout and functionality of the website.
  • Review and audit website content in collaboration with internal teams to ensure it:
  • aligns with organisational messaging and strategy
  • is SEO-optimised
  • is set up effectively for analytics and tracking
  • Use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to monitor website performance and inform improvements.

Content & Digital Communications

  • Develop and deliver timely and engaging digital communications across web, social media, and email, using Canva and Adobe suite for content creation.
  • Lead on strategic planning of our social media calendar, support junior colleagues to create and schedule content across channels.
  • Write and produce our monthly newsletter - Tree Times - using Charity Digital Mail, supporting on additional email marketing as required.
  • Write, edit and distribute online content including the charity's Annual Report.
  • Attend events where digital support and social media coverage is required.
  • Manage enquiries through social media and email channels as required.

Brand & Marketing Materials

  • Support the Marketing and Communications Manager to maintain brand and message consistency across all internal and external communications.
  • Support the production of online and offline marketing materials that reflect the organisation's brand and values.
  • Brief and manage external suppliers to deliver high-quality marketing materials in a timely and cost-effective way.
  • Liaise with freelance designers, copywriters and suppliersas necessary.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

  • Work with teams across the organisation to co-create and deliver new content, keeping them updated on the M&C Team's digital marketing priorities.
  • Ensure a consistent and coherent image of the charity is presented across departments and channels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with volunteer content writers who contribute to storytelling and communications.
  • Lead on the organisation's influencer strategy, nurturing positive relationships with high-profile individuals that are aligned with our mission and values and identifying opportunities for collaboration.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Analyse performance across digital marketing channels, including website, social media and email, and followingpaid campaigns, to gather robust data that can inform future decisions.
  • Support monthly KPI tracking and the delivery of regular insights and reports to guide ongoing optimisations.

hOW WE WILL MEASURE SUCCESS

  • Growth across all digital channels including web traffic, followers, marketing opt-ins and overall brand recognition.
  • Growth of the charity's digital engagement channels and targeting of specific warm and cold key audiences to support the wider fundraising and engagement objectives of the charity.
  • Quality, accuracy and completeness of marketing and communication materials, copywriting, brand consistency, income and campaign reporting.
  • Growth of engaged supporters willing to take a positive action with Trees for Cities including signing up to our volunteer mailing list, donating, tree sponsorships, opting in for further communications and positive feedback from our supporters.
  • Increased income through paid digital advertising channels, as part of collaborative work with Individual Giving colleagues.

Exceptional editorial and copywriting skills alongside a keen eye for detail, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and channels.

A creative thinker with demonstrable experience in using content creation platforms such as Canva and Adobe Suite to produce social media content and marketing materials.

Proventrack recordof planning and implementing integrated marketing and communications plans& campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channelsto achieve setobjectives.

Demonstrable knowledgeof Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, Meta Ads Manager,and LinkedInAds Manager, with the ability to manage and optimise campaigns with the support of paid media agencies.

Robust knowledge of content management systems and best practice SEO(knowledge of GEO landscape desirable).

environment is free of hazards that may prove injurious to themselves, their colleagues, and all those engaged in the charity's activities. Trees for Cities' office is a no-smoking environment; all staff have a responsibility to keep the office clean and welcoming.

Occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required, particularly during the planting season

(October to March), for which staff receive time off in lieu (TOIL).
