Part Time - 22hrs per week, Permanent

Do you have significant experience of co-ordinating and delivering digital content? Are you a short and mid-form video expert? Do you want to make a difference to people in Bristol?

This is a rare opportunity to lead on video and photographic content for Bristol City Council, as a senior member of the in-house visual design team (Bristol Design).

This is a part-time (22 hours a week) permanent opportunity.

We are looking for someone to join the creative team at the heart of the council, who has the following skills and experience:

  • Substantial experience in video and photography, including shooting and editing.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Strong creative vision.
  • Resilient to quickly changing demands.
  • Confident collaborating, negotiating and mentoring in a professional environment.
  • Committed to learning new skills and incorporating the latest innovations into our work.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Software including Premiere Pro and After Effects.

What to expect from the role?

The varied nature of this role means that no week will ever be the same. Tasks include:

  • Meeting our clients and colleagues to scope out the best approach to a new brief.
  • Crafting a storyboard or structure for a short campaign film.
  • Co-ordinating a production schedule, contributors and logistics.
  • Filming and capturing stills for a media interview on site in Bristol.
  • Editing interview footage including B-roll and audio into a first cut.
  • Supporting new business opportunities with external clients.
  • Ensuring all materials meet high standards of accessibility.

Bristol Design are responsible for producing high-quality, accessible and engaging visual content, campaigns and communication materials across all channels. We support a diverse range of council teams and projects including sustainable travel, democratic services, museums, culture and public health.
