Are you looking for your next step in your dietetic career? Do you have a keen interest in providing a high quality dietetic service for inpatients requiring nutrition support? We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced and dedicated dietitian with excellent communication skills to join our dynamic team in this role, providing a dietetic service to critical care and our nutrition support team. There will be opportunities to develop your skills further with the support of expert dietitians and the wider MDT.

Main duties of the job

Providing a high quality dietetic service to inpatients in critical care and requiring parenteral nutrition.

Providing a high quality dietetic service to outpatients.

Working as part of a team to provide a high quality acute dietetic service.

Active role in supporting our students and less experienced members of the team.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) provides hospital services to around 570,000 people living in Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire, and specialist services to patients from all over the country.

We deliver a full range of district hospital services in a variety of locations.

The dietetic department at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a large and friendly department of around 25 dietitians spread across 2 sites (Basingstoke and Winchester) with excellent support from our 3 secretaries. We have close links with the University of Surrey and Winchester University and regularly take dietetic students for their clinical placements.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Professional UK registration as a dietitian with the HCPC
  • BSc or equivalent in Nutrition / Dietetics

Desirable criteria

  • PENG course completion

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Evidence of a broad range of dietetic experience including nutrition support
  • Evidence of working as part of a team

Desirable criteria

  • evidence of implementing a change to promote good practice

Skills

Essential criteria

  • advanced communication skills
