Your day-to-day
As a Senior DevOps engineer at reward working on our loyalty platform in a fast paced, agile environment, you will be contributing to the design and development of our core product infrastructure working with the Engineering Team. The platforms that you build and gain exposure to are used by millions of people every day.
About You
At Reward we want to recruit passionate engineers who are truly interested in their chosen field. Specific languages and frameworks come and go but at Reward we are more interested in your approach as a Senior DevOps Engineer and how you solve problems. The skills that make great engineers are transferrable. If you have passion & knowledge in some of the following technologies, we would be interested in speaking with you. It's an advantage the more you know but we don't expect anyone to have experience of all of them.
• Containerization (we use Docker)
• Orchestration (we use Kubernetes and Fargate)
• Cloud deployment and management (we use AWS)
• IaC (we use Terraform)
• Python / Bash (for scripting / automation).
• CI / CD (we currently use GitHub actions)
• Working in an Agile environment and a solid understanding of Agile methodologies
• Version control (we use GitHub), code reviews and good software working practices.
• Excellent communication to both Technical and non-technical audiences.
• Open to being challenged and willing to continuously learn and improve.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in DevOps or a related field, with a strong understanding of microservices and open-source software.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure), infrastructure as code (IaC), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, and Ansible.
- Quality Assurance Expertise: In-depth understanding of quality assurance principles, quality control procedures, and testing methodologies.
- Agile Practices: Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a strong understanding of Agile principles and practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions.
