Senior Desktop Systems Specialist

Permanent, 37 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Desktop Systems Specialist, and are seeking a highly motivated and technically capable person to join the Computing and Library Services Digital Workspace team.

Reporting to the Digital Workspace Manager, you will have technical responsibility for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all technologies within the digital workspace and will ensure that students and staff digital workspace environments are of the highest quality.

You will deliver project work through plan, build and transition to live services. You will also deal with requests for help from other technical staff in-person, over the phone, by email, and via helpdesk systems.

Educated to degree level or with relevant experience along with 2 A levels, you will have a wide range of knowledge and understanding of different technologies allowing you to lead on the technical implementation of end user environments for university supplied desktops, laptops, and tablets with Windows and Mac operating systems and VDI solutions. You will also have or be willing to work towards ITIL 4.0 certification at foundation level or above.

You will need to be able to work independently or as part of a team and, as required, lead project teams. You will also have the capability to adapt to new technologies easily and have the experience and creativity to develop these into solutions that contribute to continual service improvement.
