With a reputation for delivering exceptional quality and innovative design, they are seeking a Principal / Senior Design Manager to oversee and drive the design process across multiple prestigious developments.
Role Overview

As the Principal / Senior Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading the design management process from pre-construction through to project completion. You will collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, and internal teams to ensure design excellence, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company standards.
  • Manage design teams, including architects, consultants, and subcontractors, to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Oversee pre-construction design development, ensuring feasibility, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure technical excellence, buildability, and risk mitigation throughout the design phase.
  • Collaborate with commercial and construction teams to integrate design solutions into project delivery.
  • Implement design management procedures, ensuring timely production and distribution of design information.
  • Monitor design progress, identifying risks and ensuring solutions align with project objectives.
  • Promote innovation, sustainability, and best practices in design management.
  • Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, planning requirements, and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management (or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in design management within main contracting, preferably in hospitality and high-end residential sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in design software and project management tools.
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations and planning processes.
