Permanent Position
Monday - Friday 8 hours per day 40 hours per week.

Delivering world class, high precision mechanical and electrical solutions with complete installation packages for all engineering needs. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes building single discipline and large scale multi discipline specialist machines for the automotive industry, automated retail packing industry, print industry and many other bespoke applications. With ever-changing technologies within manufacturing production, the company is well placed to provide both collaborative robot and integrated high speed automated machinery to customers across the UK. With this is mind this is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to join the engineering team to support a range of new build projects.
Duties
As a suitably experienced Senior Design Engineer you will be working with the engineering team to design machines, jigs, fixtures, assembly benches and semi-automated production cells using Solidworks software. Primary responsibilities will include creating detailed 2D layouts for manufacturing and assembly drawings. Compiling bills of materials and build folders for the shop floor, detailing build procedures. Supporting the build process with any design queries and preparing operations manuals and other documentation for the project. Other duties will include taking part in kick-off meetings with the customer, organising and attending design reviews including controls and software handover meetings and updating the design following reviews.
About You
Based ideally in Birmingham you will need to live within a commutable distance of B24 9QG as no travel or accommodation costs are covered for this role.
Demonstrable experience of electric actuators in pick and place mechanisms, pneumatic actuators and valves in transfer mechanisms, vacuum or mechanical grippers in handling and sensors, specifically photoelectric and inductive, contrast and colour for part detection, is essential for this role.
Sound knowledge of Solidworks and AutoCAD
Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
