Senior Defence Analyst

What we're looking for:

Aviation Week Network seeks an experienced defense market analyst to join its expanding team.

As part of the defence data team you will contribute to Aviation Week's world class coverage of the aerospace and defence market through support of the network's databases, analytical products, conferences, and consultancy-based projects. You will be a key part of the expansion of the defence data portfolio.

This specific senior analyst role is focused upon the creation, delivery, and support of country centric defence market assessments. These country profiles will form part of a database created to provide customers with accurate, insightful, and actionable intelligence on key global markets for aerospace and defence products. As a senior analyst in this new role, you will have a voice in the ongoing development of these reports and a lead role in writing new in-depth assessments of key markets.

Initial training and familiarization would take place at Informa's London office in Blackfriars, with longer-term arrangements transitioning to a hybrid model, including remote work.

Role Accountability and Duties:

As the Senior Defence Analyst you will:

  • Contribute to Aviation Week Network's analysis of the global aerospace and defence market.
  • Help to develop, write and maintain qualitative reports on key geographic defence markets.
  • Conduct in-depth research into underlying market conditions and trends.
  • Act as a lead analyst on global defence market trends and drivers within Aviation Week
  • Support the delivery of research in the form of briefings to Aviation Week clients.
  • Contribute to related consultancy projects as required.
  • Support the wider growth of Aviation Week Network's defence data business.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

What you bring to the team:

Required:

  • Have a strong interest in and understanding of the defence sector and its dynamics.
  • Be able to understand and support critical customer requirements in assessing markets.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years' experience working within the defence sector.
  • Experience of collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, and summarizing findings
  • A strong work ethic and proactive approach

Desirable:

  • A background in defence market analysis, business development or strategy functions
  • Knowledge of the defence-related technologies, domains, and competitive landscape
  • Experience in delivery of consultancy, strategy development, and/or competitor intelligence.
  • Strong communicative skills with experience of delivering public/client facing briefings.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
