What You'll Do
As a Senior Database Engineer, you'll take charge of designing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable, secure database systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative data solutions. Key responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and maintain high-performing, scalable, and secure database systems to support our business operations.
- Optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions are in place.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and system architects, to design and implement data solutions that meet business requirements.
- Develop and enforce database standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure data consistency and quality.
- Monitor and analyze database performance metrics, implementing improvements as needed.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Stay current with emerging database technologies and trends, integrating innovative solutions into our infrastructure.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone that is motivated and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Key qualifications include:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Database Engineer, with expertise in database design, optimization, and management.
- Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database tuning, and indexing strategies.
- Experience with database performance monitoring tools and cloud database platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
- Familiarity with data security, data encryption, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
