You will play an important role in ensuring the integrity, performance, and security of our critical data infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with your peers and software/data engineering teams to maintain performance and stability of the existing environment as well as deliver improvements and new solutions.

You will be expected to lead on projects from start to finish, drive database good practices and help mentor others.

Some of the great things you'll be doing:

• Serve as the subject matter expert on database platforms and their integration into applications.

• Provide expert guidance regarding the use and optimization of databases

• Promote and uphold database design practices and standards.

• Monitor database performance and proactively identify areas for improvement

• Implement measures and optimizations to maintain or enhance the database's performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Collaborate to meet the organization's specific technological and business needs.

• Stay up to date on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and project teams to gather and clarify database requirements

• Mentor other members of the team

What we'd like to see from you:

• Expert knowledge of MongoDB

• In-depth knowledge and application of performance monitoring and tuning, backup and restore strategies

• Experience of database upgrade planning and implementation

• Proficient in database query languages

• Assist the development teams with database design and schema modifications

• Experience in mentoring others

• Any experience of working in cloud computing environments such as AWS is beneficial
