The role
We are looking for an experienced BI Developer, having extensive experience with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, or similar. Expertise in data modelling and storytelling are essential, together with stakeholder management skills and a problem-solving mindset. This position requires a combination of robust technical expertise and effective interpersonal skills, as independent end-to-end project execution is expected.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work with an innovative organisation in a growing team. Exposure will go beyond technology and focus on outcomes driven solution implementation, in an array of verticals. While the position is in the BI Practice, it will offer regular exposure to all areas of the business by sheer virtue of the role. The BI Developer role will serve both internal and external customers and therefore be client facing.
Your working time will be split between our offices, work at client sites, and remotely (from home) for Merkle's valued clients.
What you'll do

- Develop & Maintain BI Solutions - design, build, and optimize dashboards, reports, and data pipelines using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
- End-to-End Project Delivery - work on BI projects from scoping and data extraction to visualisation and stakeholder training
- Ensure Data Accuracy & Security - work with data engineers to maintain data integrity and comply with industry regulations
- Work Closely with Clients - gather requirements, present insights, and provide recommendations to clients and internal teams
- Stay Ahead of New BI Tools & Features - continuously explore new technologies and industry trends, including AI & augmented analytics, to improve our data capabilities
- Contribute to Development of the Team - help develop more junior team members with technical support and guidance. Share details of recent project solutions, transfer knowledge and discoveries in bi-weekly team catch ups
What we are looking for in you

- 3+ years in a data/reporting analyst role - preferably in an agency, consultancy, or client-facing environment
- Proficiency in reporting tools - Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SQL, and Excel
- Strong problem-solving skills - the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Interest in AI Assisted Analytics - demonstrate comprehension and articulate knowledge of emerging augmented analytics features, including Copilot, Insight Advisor, and Tableau Pulse.
- Excellent presentation and storytelling skills - simplify complex data topics for diverse audiences
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts - stay organised & meet deadlines efficiently
- Knowledge of Industry Metrics - familiarity with key performance indicators (KPIs) in marketing, finance, or other relevant industries
- Project Management Skills - familiarity with an array of project management techniques and tools
