The opportunity
We are looking for a Data Strategist to join our team and contribute to the development of highly-personalised optimising the usage of data assets to drive customer insight and optimise campaigns. It's about being creative with data to answer business problems in a practical way, that our clients can understand and then work with us to help grow their business. You'll be working closely with our team of data scientists and analysts, performance marketers campaign developers and CX strategists providing recommendations on methods to drive the most out of our client's data.
This is a great opportunity for an inquisitive and commercially minded professional to harness and develop their analytical and strategic skills in an agile team as part of a global agency network. It's not about working on similar briefs for the one client using the same datasets. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to work across major brands like Samsung, Estée Lauder, Beiersdorf and the NBA across a range of challenges.
Data Driven Performance Marketing is a significant part of Iris' business and a strategic growth driver. As a specialism we support our clients with end-to-end solutions across customer experience, data activation, pricing, performance management and tech strategy. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will have lots of opportunity to develop your skills and experience across our capability.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy and Planning
- Develop and deliver data strategies and planning frameworks for clients, focusing on CRM programmes, marketing performance and optimization initiatives.
- Conduct data maturity assessments and design roadmaps for data transformation and analytics improvement.
- Leverage diverse data sources, including first-party and third-party data, to enhance planning strategies and improve marketing effectiveness.
Client Engagement and Insight Delivery
- Collaborate directly with clients to identify opportunities, understand requirements, and shape data-driven solutions that address business challenges.
- Translate complex data into actionable insights and compelling narratives to inform campaign strategies and business decisions.
- Present recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment with organizational goals.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work closely with data specialists, including analysts, data scientists, and campaign developers, to deliver cohesive solutions.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including marketing, creative, and technical teams, to align data strategy with broader business objectives.
- Coordinate effectively with offshore teams to execute data solutions, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Data Analysis and Technical Expertise
- Support test-and-learn initiatives by creating measurement frameworks and analysing campaign results to drive optimization.
- Provide expertise in modelling, segmentation, and customer profiling to enhance campaign performance.
Compliance and Best Practices
- Ensure operational compliance with GDPR and data security regulations in all aspects of data strategy and execution.
What we're looking for:
Experience and Industry Knowledge
- ~5 years of experience in data planning, analytics, or insight roles, preferably within an agency or consultancy environment.
- Proven expertise in CRM programs or performance marketing, with strong data literacy and analytical skills.
Technical Proficiency
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, Google Data Studio) and web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze) is desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt new tools and technologies.
Analytical and Strategic Thinking
- Strong understanding of data analytics, including modelling, segmentation, and test-and-learn methodologies.
- Knowledge of using varied data sources for planning strategies, including enhancements from third-party data sources.
Client and Stakeholder Management
- Experience working across multi-disciplinary teams with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Comfort in client-facing roles, shaping opportunities and presenting work confidently and effectively.
