Job Description

Blend are looking for an experienced Data Consultant with an open, curious, and analytical mindset to join our team as we move to the next stage of our development.

As a Senior Data Consultant you will work with clients to understand how data and analytics can help their businesses, understanding and breaking down their challenges and working across different industry sectors (e.g. Energy, Life Sciences, FMCG, etc.). You will be able to articulate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical, and impactful manner to non-technical and technical audiences using both compelling storytelling and impactful presentations.

You will work across a range of client initiatives covering the breadth of the data domain - including data strategy, data management, and data maturity - understanding, scoping, and prioritising the data outcomes sought and the business value they represent.

Working closely with the client stakeholders you will build strong working relationships with them while developing a strong understanding of what value means to them and their business.

Reporting to the Director of Consulting the role will work closely with the Consulting team members and other capabilities in the organisation such as the Client Delivery, Data Engineering, Data Science, and Business Development teams.

Qualifications

What you need to have / Core Responsibilities:

• Experience in a consultancy environment, specifically data consultancy and strategy, and across different industry sectors (e.g. energy, manufacturing, utilities etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate and engage effectively with non-technical and technical audiences through creating compelling stories, strong narratives, and insightful presentations.
• Capable of adapting your communication style to suit the audience with practical experience working with senior stakeholders.
• Proven ability in developing appropriate high-level solution options across the domains of people, process, data, and technology.
• Experience of supporting successful project delivery by working effectively with colleagues and clients.
• Experience in understanding and breaking down client challenges through current state assessment, target state definition and roadmap development.
• Experience running business facing workshops involving a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Comfortable with challenging stakeholders who either want it all, or do not know what they want.
• Ability to manage time and competing priorities effectively.
• A broad understanding of leading analytics methods and tools, data management methods and tools, data technologies, and operating model approaches.
• Lead small teams to deliver fast-paced client projects.
• Contribute to practice development to progress the Data Consulting value proposition and build a strong community.

Nice to have

• Relevant numerate degree (maths, computing science, economics, engineering, etc.).
• Technical analytics background.
• Familiarity with proposition shaping and development, client proposal creation, business development.
