Senior Data & Analytics Developer

This is a unique opportunity to join Segula Rail Solutions, forming part of our forward-thinking Rail Solutions team as a Senior Data & Analytics Developer. This comes as an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team, leading and driving forwards digital transformation within the Rail Sector.

The Senior Data & Analytics Developer is responsible for building, analysing, enhancing, and supporting best in class, business focused data reporting and analytics in the rail sector.

Working as part of the Segula Rail Solutions team to support multiple initiatives and clients in various rail applications. The role will engage with support areas as well as with clients and users directly to gather requirements, design and deliver analytic dashboards and reports and custom developments to capture data and satisfy reporting requirements of these areas.

Working closely with the senior management team and external clients, this position provides a great opportunity to work as part of dynamic team on large rail projects, provide innovative solutions, problem solving using new technologies to make a real impact.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in prototyping, designing, developing, publishing analytic reports
• Develop data models and recommend best practices for report creation and visualizations
• Implement security in reports and dashboards
• Integrate Dashboards into applications using Embedded Analytics.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to gather business requirements for Analytics and Reporting
• Troubleshoot reporting issues and tune report performance
• Build and modify tables, views and optimize SQL queries, indexes as needed
• Responsible for implementing security on developed dashboards and reports in accordance with security and access requirements
• Innovate and develop ways to capture data more efficiently

Qualifications

• Experience in Business Analytics tools
• Experience in Reporting and Analytics
• Experience in database technologies and strong SQL query writing skills, preferrable SQL Server
• Experience in large documentation systems or technical analysis
• Experience working in Agile development environment with tools such as Jira
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
• IT, Computing or Engineering Degree
• Good communication skills to translate business requirements
