Senior Cyber Wordings Specialist

UK- London, USA - New York, Stamford or Connecticut

Our Global Wordings team has an exciting opportunity for a resourceful and adaptable individual to join them as Cyber Wordings Specialist. You will be an integral part of the team and the wider Legal department supporting the underwriting business for all cyber related wordings matters. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your technical drafting skills and advisory services to the underwriters, their clients and brokers in order to provide a service differentiator for AXA XL.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Provide training as required on cyber wordings issues to the wider business.
  • Keep up to date on emerging risks and regulatory developments impacting cyber insurance and reporting to the Head of Wordings and cyber stakeholders.
  • Provide advice to the business on all cyber wording related issues.
  • Represent AXA XL on relevant market committees and enable AXA XL to demonstrate market leading expertise in delivering cyber wording solutions.
  • Be a cyber subject matter expert for wordings related issues.
  • Provide advocacy support to underwriters in handling broker negotiations.
  • Offer advice and solutions to cyber wording related queries and referrals from underwriters and the wider business.

You will report to one of the Wording Managers.

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Ability to prioritise, manage deadlines and work under pressure
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
  • Good knowledge of the insurance market
  • An understanding of base wordings and standard clauses in financial lines (ideally including cyber but not essential)
  • Good understanding of insurance and insurance contract law
  • Outstanding written English
  • Meticulous forensic approach to wordings
  • Comfortable explaining complex concepts and making recommendations to underwriters or brokers
  • Ability to turn insurance coverage requirements into clear, unambiguous and accurate written wordings
  • Able to take a commercial approach to wordings solutions
  • Comfortable providing presentations.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $170,000 USD.

AXA XL is a global Company. The salary range noted above is applicable only for US applicants. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual's skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues' pay.
