Description

This is an exciting time to join finance at Switch2, a lot of change is required in a short period of time to enable the business to be ready for its next stage of growth. Switch2 Energy has grown revenue from £15million and breakeven, to £29million with a cf2.5million EBITDA over the last three years. Following continued growth, the existing value creation plan is to increase EBITDA over the next two years to £5million through organic development.

We have an opportunity available for a Senior Finance Manager. In this role you are an essential asset to our business, reporting into the Group Financial Controller you will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end accounting team operations, month end management account, board pack preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and identifying opportunities improve to procedures & controls.

We are looking for an adaptable and efficient individual with a strong finance and reporting background. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to use their experience & initiative to implement process changes, collaborate with key stakeholders and own the development and progression of the reporting team.

What will you do?

1. Manage the financial reporting team of 3 and co-ordinate the month-end close process, ensuring timely & accurate internal reporting. Improve Finance month-end process efficiency and controls through automation and optimising usage of systems.
2. Responsible for Balance sheet reconciliations and that all balances are correct, with all differences investigated, understood and actioned where necessary.
3. Responsible for change management within the Reporting team and input/involvement with wider finance change priorities.
4. Conducting detailed monthly variance analysis to understand drivers and Supervise/input into the production of the monthly Finance board pack.
5. Work with Ops and FP&A to understand monthly performance and business drivers.
6. Assist with the production of the monthly cashflow statement and weekly 90 day rolling cashflow forecast.
7. Lead and manage the financial reporting team, setting performance expectations, providing feedback, direction and coaching (including exam support and management).
8. Oversee all regulatory submissions including HMRC returns and payments.
9. Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
10. Significant involvement in year-end audit preparation and liaising with auditors
11. Providing additional financial information to the business as needed and completing ad-hoc financial and business projects as agreed with the Financial Controller or COO

Key experience

• Qualified with 2 years+ PQE, with a Top10 background
• Minimum 2 years experience working in a similar position with reporting experience
• Working in a similar size PE backed business - preferable but not essential
• Experience of change management - preferable but not essential
• Industry knowledge of B2B Professional services - preferable but not essential
• Knowledge of Microsoft NAV - preferable but not essential
