Senior Credit Risk Analyst - Capital and Impairment
This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.
How you'll help us live our purpose
We've been helping our members save for their future and buy a home of their own since 1875. By joining us, you'll play a big role in helping us to put home ownership within reach of more people, generation after generation.
It's a purpose that drives everything we do and one we're proud of. And you can play your part too - join us as our Senior Credit Risk Analyst - Capital and Impairment.
How you'll make a difference
In this role you will undertake a wide range of analytical and assurance activities related to the Society's capital position and provision amount, engaging with the Credit Risk modelling team and various teams within Finance to explain reasons for any movements in either the capital or provision numbers and to provide assurance of the provision amount - this includes development of any post model adjustments (PMAs) to be used within IFRS9. You will also provide assurance, as required, to external and internal audit/validation teams.
You will analyse the key drivers of movements within the Society's capital and provision numbers; providing the rationale for these on a monthly, quarterly and half-yearly basis to support the required regulatory returns and monthly provision assurance. You will also support the production and continuous improvement of the existing MI reporting suite while highlighting emerging trends and providing recommendations to mitigate risks and optimise opportunities. You will be able to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to explain complex principles to non-technical colleagues in order to understand and shape business processes.
You will also act as a role model within the team and wider department, providing support and guidance to Credit Risk analysts to enable their development.
What will you bring to the role?
- A high level of resilience with an ability to work collaboratively across departments, sharing knowledge through working groups and through the production of written reports, articulating complex information to influence key stakeholders.
- Proven experience working in an analytical role, including the use of SAS/SQL or similar analytical tools with the ability to competently analyse complex sets of data and produce reports and recommendations for the senior management team and governance committees.
- Proven experience of being able to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience, both in written and verbal formats.
- Previous experience of financial services - experience of working in a Credit Risk role within secured lending and/or a Capital and Impairment or Modelling function would be highly advantageous.
- Experience of working in or alongside a Credit Risk or operational collections function is desirable, as is knowledge and experience of collections processes, policy and strategy
And in return, you'll get the best from us:
- An annual colleague bonus of up to 12%
- Matched pension contributions of up to 10%
- 26 days holiday, plus bank holidays and holiday purchase scheme of up to 5 days each year
- Colleague Mortgage and Saver products
- Electric vehicle scheme/ Cycle to Work scheme
- 2 days' volunteering per year
We'll give you a place to belong with the support to learn, develop and shape a meaningful career.
