Job Description

We're recruiting for a Senior Credit Analyst who will be responsible for the independent credit rating analysis and assignment for both direct and bilateral transactions. The Senior Credit Analyst will assume responsibility of Corporate Finance credit ratings and will be expected to analyse credits across a number of different sectors.

Through the objectivity and reliability of their analysis the Senior Credit Analyst will support the origination teams in their structuring and closing of transactions which will in turn present a risk / reward balance for LGIM's customers. The implementation of the internal process and the public rating criteria ensure the Senior Credit Analyst's independence as well as a robust and consistent internal rating. The Senior Credit Analyst will be expected to contribute to internal rating methodologies.

This role is a 6 - 12 month FTC.

What you'll be doing:

New Credit Ratings Assessment

  • Maintaining an effective working relationship with originating teams throughout the assessment process
  • Collaborating with the origination team gather and process information on proposed transactions, provide initial summary and informal feedback to the origination team, indicating a range of likely rating outcomes and the key creditworthiness drivers for the transaction.
  • Providing clear guidance to the origination team to enhance the credit protections offered by the transaction to help optimize the transaction structure and documentation in order to achieve the best possible transaction

Credit Ratings Review / Portfolio Monitoring

  • Working with origination teams to ensure information flow and on-going monitoring of the counterparties/loan portfolio
  • Completing the annual review cycle of credit worthiness and internal ratings on assigned portfolio

Rating Methodology / Processes

  • Contributing proactively to LGIM's internal rating procedures through suggestions of improvements or best practice
  • Developing and improving support and control methodologies, templates and working tools
  • Providing guidance to more junior staff or staff with less sector expertise

Data Management / Programming

  • Progressing the team's digitalization journey
  • Enabling and expanding the use of new technology (such as advanced Excel macros, Python and data visualisation)

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • Financial and credit analysis experience in corporate finance
  • Ability to grasp trends both at a macro and micro level, and to appreciate the interaction between both levels
  • Experience of attending due diligence processes/management meetings with counterparty company management
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Articulate with the ability to communicate concisely and clearly in both speaking and written mediums
  • Keen eye for detail and a professional approach to all tasks
