Job Description

We're currently looking to hire a Senior Credit Analyst to join L&G Asset Management.

Legal & General Asset Management actively manages over £70bn of corporate bonds. Globally there are over 21 credit research analysts supporting the fund managers with dedicated research on corporate credit quality, credit market trends and relative value. The London credit research team primarily monitors and forecasts the credit quality and outlook of UK and European companies and credit markets

What you'll be doing:

  • Working within a team of 9 analysts to input into the credit research process
  • Performing thorough fundamental credit and relative value analyses of companies in the Consumer and Retail sectors. These analyses should result in alpha-generating recommendations on bonds and credit derivatives
  • Communicating effectively with the portfolio managers to enhance investment performance of LGIM's Active Fixed Income funds
  • Building and maintaining good communication lines with key issuers, regulators, industry agencies, rating agencies, financial intermediaries and specialised research providers.
  • Presenting L&G Asset Management's credit research process and capabilities to pension fund consultants and institutional clients
  • Promoting L&G Asset Managements external profile at external meetings, conferences, briefings, etc
  • Assisting in the development of junior team members
  • Remaining compliant with all aspects of the LGIM Compliance Manual

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • Investment experience in a credit analysis role covering the Consumer and/or Retail sectors
  • Corporate bond, CDS and hybrid expertise, Investment Grade experience and Current market knowledge is essential
  • Solid understanding of corporate financial accounts
  • BA/BSc (or equivalent) in finance, mathematics or accounting, Mathematics to A-level (or equivalent)
  • CFA charterholder, Accountancy qualification
  • Excellent PC literacy (Excel/Word etc)Programming skills (VBA, Python) desirable
