Description of Role

We are looking for a Senior Credit Analyst to join our Non-Banking Financial Institutions team on a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave.

The role is wide in scope and will involve managing a portfolio of around 30 clients comprising UK Brokers, Insurance Companies, Asset Managers and Pension Funds.

Working closely with Front Office teams in both our Investment Banking and Capital Markets divisions, as well as the Risk and Legal departments.

As well as dealing with general lending proposals the team also deals with the assessment of derivative products from the trading teams, ensuring products are fit for purpose for specific clients and remain within limits for both risk and overall exposure.

This will likely require active dialogue with the Front Office and Risk teams to work out ways of structuring proposals that work in both our clients and the Banks interests - this is not a gatekeeper role, but an advisory position to ensure the best outcomes for all parties.

We are open to receiving applications from anyone with a strong Credit Analysis background who wants to develop skills and experience within the Non-Bank Financial Institutions space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Writing credit applications and monitoring total exposures
  • Analysis of Counterparty creditworthiness
  • Analysis of transaction suitability and risk profile / credit limits to ensure everything remains within acceptable parameters - where required work directly with front office, and potentially clients, to look at alternative structures to ensure we are able to fulfil client requirements while protecting the Bank at the same time
  • Preparing and submitting internal rating proposals while managing overall credit process and obtaining approvals
  • Monitor limits, risk levels and transactions within your portfolio.
  • Provide support to relevant coverage teams in circumstances where full recovery of debt is unclear, including formal work-outs
  • Assist on the annual credit review, renewal of limits and update credit analysis tools and techniques

Profile required

Experience / Competencies Required

  • Background in Credit Analysis with core skills in assessing client companies and risks
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - ability to interact with several teams and negotiate / influence them to find solutions
  • Highly numerate and analytical with credit knowledge
  • Enjoys being part of team but also with the ability to manage own workload with minimal direct supervision
