Senior Creative Business Lead, Global YouTube Marketing

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9 years of experience working in a relevant creative discipline (e.g., writing, filmmaking, video, creative strategy, art direction, planning, etc.) within a multinational in-house team or advertising agency.
  • Experience using data, analytics, and desk research to reveal insights to create creative briefs and strategies that act as a springboard for creative excellence.
  • A portfolio of creative work relating to Global Policy.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of key industry audiences: from global tech policymakers to teen creators.
  • Ability to develop and deliver valuable resources for uplevelling creative work across the region, and be a credible coach of briefing and guiding creative.
  • Expertise of reputational marketing and the headswinds faced by big tech - from following the conversations as they happen, to knowing how the competition are communicating in response.

About the job

As a Creative in Marketing, you bring visual, design, written and experiential acumen to Google products and services, presented across all major media, content, channels, and experiences. You have the ability to perform your role in a flexible, ever-changing environment and must be open to new influences and inspiration. You will work with a deeply cross-functional team and inspire a team of vendor partners by sharing ideas and developing effective solutions to generate multiple concepts supporting all forms of major media. You will be equally comfortable making; rolling up your sleeves and designing, mocking, writing, or prototyping; showing, not telling. Above all, you will inspire and lead by example by making the most of every opportunity to develop breakthrough creative, consistent with the Google Marketing brand, and be able to take and provide clear direction and creative feedback that pushes work forward.

YouTube Creative Studio is the in-house creative department for the biggest creative platform on the planet. We earn YouTube's place in culture through work that people like, comment, and share.

As the Senior Creative Business Lead role you will be in charge of creative leadership for Brand and Reputational Marketing - with a current specific focus on Global Policy.

You will set the stage for exceptional creative work by translating cultural and online trends into actionable strategies. You'll utilize data and research to craft compelling briefs that inspire creative excellence. Additionally, you will offer valuable counsel to marketing leaders worldwide, ultimately elevating YouTube's creative impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and ensure delivery of all projects within the business unit, ensuring high quality work and excellent stakeholder management across every touchpoint.
  • Research builds and gather support for strategic concepts to help YouTube achieve its marketing OKRs through informing and inspiring the creative.
  • Ensure creative strategic and executional excellence through the briefing and strategy process, including delivering high quality training and inspiration to the YouTube Marketing team and Creative Studio.
  • Be credible and confidently lead Creative Soundboard.
  • Maintain high standards in process by providing regular reminders of our excellence resources, and being an advocate that insists on great briefing, enforces appropriate decision-making, and helps partners to deliver better feedback.
