Job Description

Turner & Townsend alinea is currently recruiting for a Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor within our Real Estate team to support on a range of high profile Cat A and Cat B fit out and office refurbishment projects. The position is to work within a growing team of Cost Managers supporting a number of blue chip financial services, banking, legal and tech clients.

The individual must be self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and clients. This will involve establishing early budgets, early estimating, and cost planning, managing a design team to the budget, tendering and procurement (single and two stage) and post contract reporting to the Client. The role will also include management of other Assistant Cost Managers and Cost Managers within the Occupier team.

A good knowledge of JCT is fundamental with the ability to work both collaboratively but robustly with any main contractor.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Commission Management, to include:

  • Undertaking feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
  • Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan to the Client
  • Inputting into value engineering
  • Tendering (single and two stage) and procuring construction contracts
  • Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes
  • Being responsible for project deliverables and ensuring governance is followed.
  • Producing monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
  • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
  • Managing Assistant Cost Managers and Cost Managers within the Occupier team.
  • External networking

Qualifications

  • A proven track record of delivering high quality cost management / quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
  • Professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
  • Degree or HNC level qualification
  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritise more than one project at a time.
  • Experience in delivering fit out projects for corporate clients
  • Utilising digital software for delivery of cost management services
