Role overview

This is an important privacy and legal role supporting our UK business on a wide range of projects with a diverse client base including popular social media platforms, luxury fashion brands, global food and drink brands, consumer goods, media agencies and owners, government departments, banks and healthcare providers to name a few.

What will I be doing?

  • Working with Ipsos UK's Compliance Department, the UK Legal Counsel, Business Excellence (BES) network from across the business, Ipsos Global Internal Audit, Quality, Security, Legal and Privacy teams to help ensure compliance with all applicable UK and global data protection, e-privacy and company legal and compliance requirements.
  • Providing operational support, advice and guidance as a compliance and information security specialist within Ipsos in the UK.
  • Managing and approving supplier and freelancer requests at Ipsos in the UK.
  • Reviewing and negotiating client and supplier agreements.
  • Contributing to the management, development and maintenance of information security, privacy and compliance policies, procedures and working practices.
  • Completing client compliance, privacy and information security questionnaires and support for client site audits, calls and queries.
  • Contributing to the development of the BES training and communications programme to ensure all employees are aware of and understand their compliance and information security responsibilities.
  • Forming part of the Criminal Records team at Ipsos in the UK.
  • Delivering face to face/online training to staff relating to compliance and information security requirements.
  • Managing subject access requests, together with any other requests, complaints or incidents coming into Ipsos in the UK.
  • Assisting with risk assessments, spot checks, supplier audits and internal and external audits along with management reporting.
  • Any other tasks reasonably required to support the business

Ipsos UK offers a hybrid working environment, 3 days in the office and working the rest from home.

What do I need to bring with me?

Desired Qualification:

  • Relevant experience and academic and/or professional qualifications in information security, information risk or other relevant areas.

Desired skills and experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of the international standard for information security (ISO 27001), and ideally some experience of the international standards for quality (ISO 9001).
  • Strong working knowledge of information security management systems.
  • Experience of managing and auditing information security.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in UK and European data protection laws and practices (not essential but would be advantageous).
  • Experience working with external clients, suppliers, staff at all levels and including senior management.
  • Working knowledge of IT systems, networks and software sufficient to be comfortable advising and auditing IT department.
  • Ability to contribute to and provide training to staff on key requirements.
  • Experience in carrying out information security and/or data privacy risk assessments.
  • Ability to draft written reports and provide oral briefings.
