As a Senior Contracts Advisor - Derivatives, you will play a pivotal role in managing complex contractual arrangements within a global trading network, ensuring compliance and providing strategic commercial advice that drives business success.
Role Overview
- Provide expert advice on standard and complex contractual arrangements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Advise on derivatives contractual arrangements and associated risks to traders.
- Negotiate contracts that accurately reflect terms for OTC derivative transactions while adhering to company policies.
- Prepare and negotiate trade confirmations and ad hoc agreements to facilitate new business.
- Assist in resolving contractual disputes with counterparties and liaise with stakeholders.
- Stay informed on new business opportunities and regulatory changes.
- Maintain accurate records of negotiations and provide visibility to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with business controls related to derivatives and audit requirements.
- Offer pre and post-deal commercial value-driven advice to the business.
- Support team members and serve as a mentor/trainer to other Contracts Advisors.
Skills & Qualifications
- Contract Management: Expertise in drafting, analysis, and negotiation of contracts related to OTC derivatives.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of regulations applicable to derivatives trading.
- Commercial Mindset: Strong ability to assess commercial risks and opportunities.
- Negotiation Skills: Effective in managing stakeholder expectations during negotiations.
- Detail-Oriented: Meticulous with a keen eye for detail and highly organized.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication abilities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Flexible approach with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent legal experience.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in drafting, analysis, and negotiation of OTC derivatives contracts.
