Our PE&D Team helps clients capitalise on the opportunities presented, and manage the risks posed, by ever growing connectivity and PLM technologies. Our PE&D team supports product and asset lifecycle management and process design by bridging the gap between engineering and operations through:

  • Demonstrating best practice to clients and helping them define their own PLM enabled vision, their strategy for reaching it and the initiatives required to execute their strategy
  • Understanding clients' requirements to define differentiating product solutions
  • Engaging with clients to understand and solve their business challenges throughout the Product and Asset lifecycle within their operational context
  • Partnering with clients and vendors to evaluate, select and implement solutions across the maturity scale, from exploratory proof of concepts to large scale integrations
  • Cross-sector, applied industry experience that anchors solutions to business problems

As a member of the Product Engineering & Development team at Senior Consultant level, you will work on consulting engagements with Engineering and Product Development businesses performing assessments, making recommendations, developing technology solutions and delivering transformation improvements to their PLM systems and processes:

  • Work as part of a team assessing and reviewing Engineering and Product Development practises, processes and systems
  • Work with our clients' Engineering and IT teams to understand their challenges and requirements
  • Work as part of a team designing innovative PLM processes and systems aligned with leading practises to drive improvements aligned to their needs
  • Liaise between technical and functional teams to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements
  • Lead teams and workstreams including colleagues from within our PE&D team and wider Deloitte
  • Independently lead client interactions and engage with stakeholders
  • Create high-quality content and deliverables including assessment/recommendations summaries, design documents and training material
  • Support hands-on development and testing of PLM solutions
  • Supporting responses to RFIs, RFPs and being involved in sales activities relating to client requirements
  • Supporting building and sustaining both internal and external facing Deloitte assets and points of view on key topics, trends and technologies in Product Development and Digital Engineering

We are looking for individuals with a natural propensity for problem solving, who recognise the mix of talents it takes to develop creative, impactful solutions and can balance them within a team.

Essential:

• Experience of working in an Engineering or Product Development setting either in industry or consulting or with an Engineering degree/apprenticeship background

• Knowledge of PLM toolsets and other engineering systems (e.g. requirements management, MBSE, ALM, etc)

• Highly proficient with MS Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

• Experience working in a team environment and building relationships with colleagues and stakeholders

• Experience leading small teams/projects and managing colleagues day-to-day

• Strong teamwork ethic

• The ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies to evaluate the emerging and changing business needs of our clients

• Enjoys working within diverse and hybrid-located teams

• Professional working proficiency in the English language

Preferred:

• Hands-on experience working on PLM toolsets and other engineering systems (e.g. requirements management, MBSE, ALM, etc)

• Super-user or configuration experience on PLM systems

• Certification on a PLM toolset

• Strong presentation and public speaking skills

• Experience supporting the development of bid and sales material or responding to RFPs

• Process design and analysis experience

Personal independence

We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm). Our hybrid working policy
The home office location for this opportunity will be London, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh or Glasgow with hybrid working. Our hybrid model enables our people to collaborate, connect and innovate in both a virtual and physical capacity. As well as remote working, you'll attend your local office, virtual collaboration spaces and client sites, depending on the requirements of the role.
