Senior Consultants are responsible for contributing to delivering high quality client work, business development and practice development. You will be a key member of any client facing team. Working as a member of a project team involved in delivering HR Strategy and Transformation for large scale multinationals, or support delivery of specialist HR projects in a particular focus area (e.g. Shared Service Centre design, Robotics or Technology selection).

As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out research, data collection and analysis, applying rigorous logic to deliver insight and innovative solutions to clients;
  • Interviewing client employees and managers and facilitating meetings and workshops;
  • Assisting in the preparation of high quality deliverables such as documents and presentations which present client recommendations;
  • Working with Client counterparts on scoping pieces of work including gathering requirements, gathering feedback and input for workshops or meetings and checking understanding
  • Overseeing junior members of the team specifically Analysts and the deliverables they are responsible for
  • Owning and leading work streams of activity within client engagements and managing teams of Consultants and Analysts;
  • Developing client relationships through effective stakeholder engagement
  • Assisting with developing new business by actively contributing to proposals and bids;
  • Identifying and suggesting ways to win new business;
  • Contributing to the development of new HR propositions to support our clients and grow our business;
  • Actively involved in the running of the practice.

General HR experience:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of HR and the function it performs in a business context
  • Awareness of HR and related sector market trends and a passion and appetite to explore further and bring new thinking into everyday
  • Have a proven track record of contributing to the delivery of HR related workstreams and deliverables
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: HR operations, HR transformation programmes, enabling HR technologies, shared services, HR organisation design or a specialist HR area (e.g. learning, recruitment, benefits, reward, performance and talent)

Consulting skills and experience:

  • Excellent facilitation, communication and data analysis skills and have an ability to influence others;
  • Be able to apply knowledge and expertise in a range of client scenarios, focusing on high quality even in high pressured, time critical situations;
  • Demonstrate personal insight and good judgement when solving business issues;
  • Be able to build client and internal networks based on credibility and trust;
  • Have experience of managing client expectations and relationships;
  • Be willing to work collaboratively, build relationships and contribute to the positive and supportive culture of the practice;
  • Possess the ability and willingness to contribute to business development, through supporting bids for new business.

Strategic Advisory Experience:

  • Proven ability to assess and deliver new HR service delivery and HR operating models considering business demands and more efficient ways of working
  • Experience of working with new HR Technology and experience of analysis of an organisation's HR requirements, employee experience, processes and pain points to ensure the identification and implementation of the most suitable enabling technology
  • Ability to assess the implications of M&A transactions from an HR perspective, and to manage HR transition activity through an integration/ carve out; TUPE knowledge and experience a plus
  • Strategic analysis of future HR capabilities and trends and implementing these to improve business performance and the employee experience

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
