Development Manager (Design)

Purpose:

The key purpose of the Senior Development Manager is to efficiently and successfully deliver complex live projects within the CFP portfolio, ensuring they are completed on budget, on time, and to the utmost satisfaction of our investors and stakeholders.

Level:

Capable of acting as CF day to day lead for individual projects in the following strategy lines [Development Budgets <£20m]:

  • Secondary Cities (Clockwise)
  • Data centres
  • OP strategy lines e.g. Hotels, Ocasa

Capable of acting as CF Development lead on full strategy lines with Operating Partners

Support role with limited oversight from CF leadership on the following strategy lines:

  • Gateway Cities

Lead on select CF internal projects + processes

Core Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of the design team through RIBA stages 1-4 for a selection of complete live projects in the CF portfolio
  • Direct management of other CF Development project team members as appropriate
  • Management and tracking of project budget up until tender
  • Management of planning process required for successful delivery of development projects
  • Interface with Clockwise regarding design & operation of future sites in development
  • Provide guidance to analysts on underwriting of potential projects
  • Guardian of Clockwise design to ensure standards of quality are maintained across projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues to record data on capital expenditure of projects for benchmarking purposes
  • Maintain a record of project metrics
  • Managing procurement of client direct items
  • Developing the Project Brief
  • Observing competitors to identify improvements and where to diversify the Clockwise offer
  • Collaborate with the Asset Management team on projects relating to operational assets
  • Collaborate with the agent team to facilitate leasing of the larger assets.

Key Skills, Qualities and Experience

Essential

  • c. 10 years professional experience
  • Experience working as a qualified Architect or other design professional / RICS certification
  • Experience delivering major planning consents in London
  • Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel (up to 1-2 days week, predominantly UK, some Europe)
  • Leadership, confidence, gravitas - the ability to manage numerous challenging stakeholders and situations
  • Strong eye for design/detail - must have the ability to see the 'vision' for a project and push the design team to achieve it

Desirable

  • Experience of managing projects in Europe
  • Secondary language skills
