Hitachi Energy is looking for a Senior Consultant to join their team you'll be responsible for the development of advisory projects for major electricity sector agents, including distribution, transmission, retailer, generators in helping them deal with regulatory, economic and electricity challenges. Assisting in the building and retention of long-lasting relationships with internal and external customers to support profitable growth and ongoing satisfaction.

If you have a passion for identifying opportunities for new and repeating power consulting business, building an internal and external network for the exchange of information and creating added value for customers and the organization, ensuring the successful outcome of transactions, contracts and proposals, using a series of sales techniques, and negotiating tactics for the leading of sales activities this role will be perfect for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Proposing research & development projects including the scope of the budget, supporting the project management strategy including productization, modularization and following up on new products/solutions, including ongoing support with contract management activities.
  • Conducts risk and opportunities for the various assessments, ensuring delivery of the assignment as per agreed contract.
  • Leads in the creation of new process and tool enhancement following the study of advanced techniques, with a lead to coach and develop sub-ordinate colleagues.
  • Works as a leading functional practitioner in a consulting area. Adds technical value and approves assignment tasks carried out by others.

    Takes a lead role to propose consulting services to meet the customer's needs. Leads or supports the development of a special technology or area of best practice. Continuously looks for opportunity to promote technical solutions.

  • Conducts risk and opportunity assessments for consulting assignments.
  • Proposes and initiates actions to mitigate and control risks in one's area of responsibility and identifies opportunities for repeat and new consulting business.
  • Coaches and develops consultants to deliver assignments.
  • Forms and leads teams to deliver assignments with a focus on operational execution.
  • Actively looks for opportunities to recognize efforts by team members for team success and continuously seeks feedback with team to improve.

Background:

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, electrical power systems or similar, is required.
  • Advanced degrees preferred (Masters, PhD, MBA).
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written confident in presenting data and solutions to our customers.
  • Experience and knowledge of the electric power industry, market, systems and equipment's.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Consultant in design, understanding and performance of power systems studies.
  • Strong knowledge in power systems analysis, as well as experience in software simulation tools such as PSS/E (power systems), DigSilent Power Factory, PSCAD, ETAP & NEPLAN.
  • Developing strong customer and partner relationships, both external and internal. Commercial acumen with a proactive approach to problem solving and ability to successfully persuade and influence senior management.
  • Requires strong knowledge on the application of technical & business-related consulting for the power market and the impacts of products, equipment and engineering concepts and practices as contributors to potential recommended solutions. Proven experience in creating opportunities in the market.
  • Analytical mindset and self-motivated, takes initiatives to solve problems.
