Job Title: Senior Compliance Officer - UK Regulatory Affairs - 12 month FTC

Division: Compliance

Key Relationships: Internal: Compliance Manager - UK Regulatory Affairs and Conduct, Group Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Teams, Risk Management and Second Line Assurance; Executive Management, Beazley Functions and Underwriting units. Data Management.

External: PRA, FCA and Lloyd's stakeholders as required; legal and consultancy vendors as needed; industry peers and stakeholders as appropriate.

Job Summary: To provide technical advice and support on Lloyd's, PRA and FCA regulatory processes and interactions, ensuring regulatory compliance across the business as it grows in size and complexity. Focus on supporting high quality reporting, regulatory returns, delivery of training and specific assurance activity as needed. Contribute to Beazley Furlonge Ltd's strategic management of the PRA, FCA and Lloyd's regulatory relationships. Support the Global Compliance function through contributions to the maintenance and development of policies, procedures, internally facing communications and horizon scanning as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and maintenance of relationships with key regulators, as well as assisting with regulatory reviews and ensuring that any follow up actions are addressed.
  • Develop and help to maintain high quality trackers that are useful bases for formal reporting.
  • Understand Lloyd's, PRA and FCA requirements and assist with the Lloyd's Oversight Principles attestation and delivery of the PRA PSM Letter actions.
  • Support in handling regulatory enquiries from regulators, ensuring prompt and appropriate responses/ escalation as appropriate.
  • Contribute to, coordinate and submit Lloyd's, PRA, FCA, MAS and other international regulator's returns.
  • Assist with the formal minute taking at regulatory meetings.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the regulatory requirements applicable to the organisation in terms of the Compliance function's mandate and leverage horizon scanning tools to triage emerging regulatory policy for relevance to Beazley Furlonge's business. Assist the business to understand the impact of changing regulations and statutes and what is required of them in line with the Compliance function's Horizon scanning framework.
  • Establish and maintain highly effective relationships with other stakeholders across the business, feeding into initiatives for continuous improvement and ensuring effective information sharing across the business.
  • Support the Compliance Manager and wider Compliance team to maintain our Compliance Framework to provide assurance that the Company is compliant with all relevant regulatory obligations.
  • Support the Compliance team to maintain and review the Compliance policies and relevant underlying procedural documents.
  • Work with the business to ensure that the organisation's procedures and policies are relevant, appropriate and comply with the relevant regulations.
  • Assist second line assurance in identifying areas for compliance review and providing support throughout the review process, where necessary.
  • Conduct tailored training with relevant business areas and provide input into system based regulatory and conduct training content.
  • Represent the Regulatory team at internal Global Compliance meetings.
  • Represent the Compliance function in required Project Working Groups, contributing to ensure the project progresses within agreed timeframes, so enabling the business to meet its strategic objectives.
  • Assist with the preparation of compliance papers to support the organisation's governance structure.
  • Provide regular progress updates both written and verbally to the Global Head of Compliance.
