About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Senior Compliance Analyst ("SCA") will support the Team Leader in ensuring that the business establishes and maintains an effective, best practices anti - financial crime compliance program that is designed to comply with and detect violations of applicable anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and legislations. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide advice and ongoing support to Compliance Analyst's ("CA"), where necessary
  • Assist with the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of attorney portfolios
  • Attend to KYC related queries received from attorneys, clients and/or the Global Compliance Team
  • Establish strong communication lines with attorneys and relevant staff in order to ensure that Know Your Customer ("KYC") requests are processed efficiently and professionally
  • Assist with a review of applicants for business and new clients in order to evaluate KYC requirements, understand the nature of business and identify any high risk indicators
  • Obtain appropriate KYC documentation for applicants for business and clients and in scope related parties
  • Ensure that changes to client profiles that may require refreshed KYC and/or updates to the system (e.g. director, shareholder changes) are addressed
  • Ensure that Enhanced Due Diligence procedures are followed wherever high risk indicators are identified, escalating the matter in accordance with internal procedures
  • Ensure that applicants for business, clients and all relevant compliance parties are entered into InterAction and the internal KYC System database as required and that KYC approvals are accurate
  • Assist with InterAction administrative duties as may be required
  • Ensure that KYC documentation is approved and stored in accordance with internal policies
  • Ensure that non-compliant clients are identified and reported to the Team Leader, and that steps are taken to remediate outstanding KYC information in a timely manner
  • Conduct KYC and refresher due diligence searches where necessary
  • Ensure compliance with non-compliant/closed file procedures
  • Complete other duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time

EXPERIENCE

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • 5 or more years' experience in a similar role with knowledge of anti-money laundering regulations and legislation
  • A recognised qualification in a compliance related field or working towards it and previous working experience in the financial services industry
  • Experience with CRM systems as well as being highly proficient in MS applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of senior management and staff
  • Highly organised and detail-focused with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
