Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree/ diploma in OT
- HCPC registered
Desirable criteria
- Membership of relevant clinical interest groups
Experience
Essential criteria
- Completed a minimum of two years qualified therapy experience
- Post graduate experience that covers core skills in rehabilitation including therapeutic handling and management of people with complex conditions.
- Broad clinical experience including orthopaedics, general medicine, neurology and older adults
- Ability to contribute to clinical education of less experienced staff, students or assistants
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge and experience of Home First/ Discharge to Assess pathway and occupational therapy as part of hospital discharge
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- To work as an autonomous practitioner and have the ability to organise, prioritise and delegate work
- Understanding of clinical governance and its implications
Personal Attributes
Essential criteria
- Demonstrate a flexible, adaptable, client-centred, non-discriminatory approach
- Ability to reflect critically and appraise own performance
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
