Senior communications officer - Housing - Grade 12 (£47,040 - £49,083)

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

We're looking for an enthusiastic comms professional, with a passion for working with communities, to support us as we improve housing services across the board.

Croydon is making huge changes in housing. From major regeneration programmes to raising standards in repairs, we are determined to provide homes people are proud to live in. Residents have been at the heart of our housing improvement plans; their lived experiences have shaped every aspect of our transformation. We've made some good progress, but there is more to be done. We want to keep them, and all our staff and partners, informed and involved in the changes we are making, every step of the way.

That's where you'll come in. Based in the corporate communications team, you'll work closely with our colleagues in housing, take the lead on communications for their service and help to tell Croydon's story. An excellent communicator, you'll be skilled writing engaging narratives, experienced in planning and managing campaigns and confident in media relations. You'll be working with the full range of corporate channels, from socials to print, tailoring your comms to reach our diverse communities and looking for new, creative ways to make an impact.

Internally, you'll be working with colleagues at all levels of the organisation, from our officers on the frontline to senior leaders. You'll have a great range of partners to work with, from our residents to our independent Housing Improvement Board and Tenant and Leaseholder Panel. They're all as committed as we are to making council homes better.
