Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Mon to Fri

What you'll do
Vodafone Business is looking for an enterprise and B2B communications superstar to join the external communications team. The role will lead the external communications for Vodafone Business, delivering against the company's reputational goals, driving thought leadership and increasing awareness of the Vodafone Business brand. The role works closely with all of the Vodafone Business leadership team in the UK and alongside colleagues in Vodafone Group, to ensure complete understanding of the opportunities and challenges the team faces in the many verticals they operate in.
As well as working closely with the business team, this role also works closely with the wider corporate affairs department, for example our colleagues in Sustainable Business, Government Affairs and Regulatory to present an integrated Vodafone view to the outside world.
This person will be a true collaborator, developing trust and relationships with many people from across the business to get information and give advice. They need to be proactive, coming up with ideas and plans that support our business communications, have a keen eye for an excellent earned media story, and an interest in purpose and social value would be beneficial.
- Lead business communications, with proactive storytelling and engagement
- Lead the media relations for Vodafone Business
- Collaborate on crisis and issues response for Vodafone Business
- Create messaging that informs Vodafone Business customer messaging where appropriate
- Manage an external agency and internal resources to deliver best in class, innovative and highly engaging reputation strategy for Vodafone Business
- Work closely with wider team in our department as well as brand, social, internal comms and commercial functions to support an integrated approach to message deliver
- Provide specialist advice on reputational impact of key commercial priorities and present strategic options
- Lead on the business comms strategy to deliver a proactive and reactive programme around key issues and events
- Work closely with the analyst team to lead in building the UK positioning for analyst session
- Work closely with marketing to deliver best in class thought leadership content
- Work closely with marketing to identify the best events and speaking opportunities for our exec team
- Understand paid, owned and earned to advise on the best strategy
Who you are
- Demonstrable track record within a highly rated agency, an in-house external communications department of driving comms for B2B brands.
- Dynamic, self-motivated and clear communicator with the ability to see stories, explain the complex in a simple, compelling way.
- Experience of working in a collegiate way with senior executives, peers, team members and/or agencies.
- Strong journalist relationships in the B2B space
- Experience of paid, owned, earned comms alongside social channels such as Linked In.
