Join Our New Commissioning Team in Walsall

Are you passionate about making a difference in the community? Walsall Council is looking for dedicated and innovative individuals to join our Commissioning Team. Following a review of our commissioning functions across the council, we are developing a new approach focused on impactful commissioning, securing outcomes that matter, drawing upon more collaborative and joint / multidisciplinary approaches and adopting more of a people and place-based perspective.

We will achieve this through a substantial investment in commissioning that brings together four key areas of commissioning across the Council to create a more integrated approach to Health, Care, and Communities.

Current Opportunities

Walsall has significantly invested in building the commissioning team as part of its commitment to quality support to people in Walsall.

We are in the process of appointing to the management roles in the team, but have a wide range of opportunities for people to join the team based on you experience or ambition for the future.

Commissioning - Age Well

These roles will focus on core support areas for individuals of working age including building community capacity in conjunction with local Community and Voluntary Sector partners. This is a key area for development and there are some exciting projects that these posts will be responsible for taking forward to inform a longer term approach to how support is delivered in Walsall.

These important posts will work alongside Commissioning Managers to take forward planned commissioning activity. This role will also be important for communicating and engaging with Providers around the quality agenda. We are keen to work with Providers but need a team that is able to build effective working relationships with Providers so we can transform services in line with our commissioning intentions.

The role will focus on ensuring commissioning activity follows good practice, using data and information to inform decisions and engaging with providers and people with lived experience around the options we have.
