This role has a starting salary of £ £27,408 per annum based on a 21.6 hours per week, pro-rata to £45,680.

We are excited to be hiring a new Senior Commissioning Officer to join our fantastic SEND admissions team. This role is open to hybrid working and as a team we split our time between working from home and collaborating together in the office.

About the Role

The SEND Admissions Team is an integral part of the Children's Commissioning Service; driving change and innovation with the ongoing focus of improving outcomes for children and young people across the County. Our team are primarily responsible for overseeing the placement process for children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan who are moving from one phase of education to another.

We are now looking for a passionate and solution focussed person to join our team!

The Senior Commissioning officer is a key role within the SEND Admissions team. On a day to day basis you will:

  • Communicate with schools and colleagues within the SEND Admissions team and wider Surrey teams to support the key stage transfer process
  • Ensure that funding is allocated correctly to schools to support their needs. You will present any requests for funding changes to panel and liaise with finance to ensure correct payment
  • Support with data requests to plan sufficiency and demand of school places and progress of placements

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Understanding budget management and monitoring individual learner costs and High Needs Funding
  • Experience of presenting complex cases to panels
  • Knowledge of SEND legislation and practice, in particular phase transfer
  • Understanding of market management and sufficiency
  • Experience of data management and excel presentation
