Job Title: Senior Commissioning Engineer – Mechanical (Weapons)

Salary: Starting from £35,802 Depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • To carry out routine work with limited supervision & have an understanding of safety consequences in a high-risk environment

  • Liaise/Interface with relevant stakeholders to endure activities are undertaken in a safe & compliant manner

  • Instruct & mentor less experienced members of the team within your knowledge & competency

  • Responsible for research, review & feedback of appropriate documentation to the required standard

  • Keep full and accurate records of work activities carried out as required by policy, procedure & legislation

  • Represent the Company on Contractors Sea Trials and other outworking requirements

  • Responsible for delivering assigned activities in line with company policy, procedures and legislation

  • Demonstrate awareness of product knowledge

Your skills and experiences:

  • Ability to provide technical knowledge to emergent challenges

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft packages & company specific software

  • Previous Submarine Weapons System knowledge is desirable

  • Control of Works and Safe System of Work knowledge

  • Testing & Commissioning air & fluid pipework systems, e.g. air, water. Hydraulics & nitrogen experience

  • Ability to conduct Mechanical System inspections and approve documentation

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in related discipline or STEM subject

The Commissioning Weapons Test Section Team:

As a Senior Commissioning Engineer – Mechanical (Weapons) you will be testing mechanical elements of Fluid & Air systems, Nitrogen, Water and Hydraulics etc and you will also have the opportunity to support at sea trials. The role will provide you with the opportunity of working on Submarine Weapon Systems which is a specialist area with unique design and challenges. We offer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria
