Job Summary
Kiwa Fire Safety Compliance (KFS) have an exciting opening for a Senior Fire Safety Engineer to join our Product Evaluation team.
This is the perfect role if you are looking to advance your career in fire engineering. As a Senior Fire Safety Engineer, you will supervise and provide technical support to other members of the Product Evaluation Team. This role is located in Aylesbury, with hybrid working.

About the role
As a Senior Fire Safety Engineer, you will:
- Be expected to understand your level of responsibility and work within the limit of your expertise.
- Provide support to product evaluation engineers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, including support in reviewing of reports.
- Adhere to the Register of Assessors and Reviewers in accordance with the Passive Fire Protection Forum (PFPF) 'Guide to Undertaking Technical Assessments of Fire Performance of Construction Products Based on Fire Test Evidence' (PFPF Guide) ensuring that all assessors and reviewers work within their competencies.
- Be able to author and review basic and intermediate reports in accordance with the PFPF Guide.
- Contribute to the team's financial performance by maintaining high utilisation levels and meeting personal invoicing goals.
- Undertake work which will demonstrate compliance with current legislation and aligns with the Company's operational procedures.
- Build and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide support to the Sales / Estimating team with producing fees / scope of service, as and when required.
- Contribute to a positive culture within the PE team.
Do you have what it takes?
- Level 7 qualification in a fire-related discipline or equivalent engineering master's degree, along with relevant industry experience.
- Membership of a professional body (e.g. IFE, CABE, CIBSE), and commitment to ongoing professional development to IEng and ultimately CEng (Engineering Council).
- Proficient knowledge of product evaluation and understanding to apply technical and practical skills.
- Technical and functional responsibility with supervision of product evaluation engineers.
- The ability to perform advanced tasks typically without significant supervision.
- Effective interpersonal skills in communicating technical matters and project management skills.
- The ability to operate in accordance with safe systems of work.
- Collaborate and contribute to the implementation of new and best practice methods.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work under pressure and meet targets independently.
- Relevant experience of balancing the needs of Customers, Shareholders and Employees.
- Dynamism, accuracy, reliability and results oriented.
- Willingness to travel as and when required.
What can you expect from us in return?
- £55,000 - 70,000 per annum
