About the roleAre you looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager, FX to join the John Lewis Money team.
As a leader in our business your number one focus is to challenge and empower your teams and others to create more value for our customers and our business.
You will be responsible for developing, leading and driving the New Business/In Life and overall commercial strategy to deliver the agreed performance; leading a cross-functional team of internal professionals and 3rd party suppliers.
You will manage the product life cycle to deliver market leading performance. You will identify development opportunities and seek to maximise customer value and return.You will be the lead champion for your product with responsibility to drive it ongoing success within the Partnership

Salary range - £60,400.00 - £90,700.00

Contract type - This position is fixed term contract for 12 months, ending in January 2027

Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The team aims for around 1 day a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings.
Key responsibilities

Managing (People Management and Task Management) a team as required.

Providing support for Partners to enable them to deliver their role outcomes

Supporting them in their personal and professional development, prioritising their activity and ensuring outcomes are delivered to agreed standards and timelines

Being the escalation route for Partners when needed

Set clear intent, direction and guardrails to achieve outcomes, aligned to the Partnership strategy.

Leverage insight and internal and external networks to keep abreast of key customer requirements, market conditions and trends, including technological advancements.

Own business processes, frameworks and tools within your area, continuously improving them to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Develop, lead and deliver the New Business and/or In Life strategy to maximise value in line with agreed objectives balancing customer and commercial objectives. Manage key metrics e.g. LTV, sales, income

Lead on product development and the product roadmap (product, pricing etc)

Manage key Third Party commercial relationships

Play a key role in the overall leadership and success of the Commercial/Product Management team

Accountable for performance improvement within agreed budgets

Responsible for compliance with John Lewis policies & procedures within the legal and regulatory framework
Essential skills/experience you’ll need
-
Significant experience of Financial Services Product Management (ideally in Retail Foreign Exchange, International Payments, or both).

Skilled at managing both internal senior stakeholders and external supplier relationships

Experience working and thriving in a matrix environment

Ability to analyse trading and other P&L related data, and marketing KPI's and to be able to make well reasoned recommendations based on the data

Strong all round commercial acumen
