Senior Commercial Manager (6 month FTC)

Our Client is an international architecture and engineering company who have an urgent requirement for a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to join their team.

The key requirement of this role is for this individual to have the experience and seniority to forecast fee proposals, review commercial proposals, and reduce risk as much as possible in the commercial process.

Industry Expertise Required: Architecture/Engineering/Construction
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 per annum (6 month FTC)

Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting Fee Proposals: Utilize your experience to accurately forecast project costs and fees for large-scale projects, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  • Reviewing Commercial Proposals: Evaluate commercial proposals against potential risks and opportunities, ensuring alignment with project objectives and financial goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Confidently engage with project managers and stakeholders to gather input and insights from diverse perspectives, driving informed decision-making.
  • Setting the Scene: Establish a clear understanding of project requirements and objectives, setting the scene for successful commercial outcomes.
  • Commercial Exclusions and Inclusions: Demonstrate a deep understanding of commercial terms, including exclusions and inclusions, to craft comprehensive and competitive bids.
  • Sub-Consultant Management: Leverage your experience to effectively manage relationships with sub-consultants and external partners, ensuring collaboration and compliance with project requirements.
  • Contract Drafting: Utilize your experience in contract drafting to develop bid proposals and commercial documents that align with project objectives and legal requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in forecasting fee proposals for large projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review commercial proposals against risk.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with project managers and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of commercial exclusions and inclusions for bid proposals.
  • Experience working with sub-consultants and external partners in the AEC industry.
  • Background in architecture, engineering, or construction preferred.
  • Familiarity with contract drafting and bid management processes.
